Daisy

My Daisy girl. What can I say about her other than she was the best and smartest dog I ever owned or probably ever will. We adopted her at our local Humane Society when she was 8 weeks old. Out of the whole litter of bouncing babies, she was the one that caught my eye. Nothing to look at really, just a small black, brown and white pup with floppy ears but eyes that would melt your heart.

At five years old she started having seizures. Over the next 2 years nothing seemed to help, she just kept getting worse no matter what the vets tried or the love that we put into saving her life. At the end, when she lapsed into a coma and the gut wrenching decision was made to ease her out of this life, the grief that I felt is impossible to describe. She only lived on this earth for 7 years and in death I could still not part with her. She rests under the white pine tree in the backyard with a little gravemarker painted with a yellow daisy and her name on it. Seems crazy, but I still go there and talk to her after all these years.
